On June 21, 2039, an annular, or "ring of fire," solar eclipse will occur in the U.S., Canada, Greenland, and Europe. In the U.S., the path of annularity will cross over Alaska. In Europe, the path of annularity will cross over Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Belarus. The maximum duration of annularity for this eclipse will be 4 minutes and 5 seconds. The maps below show the path of annularity over the U.S., Canada, and Europe. To experience the annular, or "ring of fire," phase of the eclipse, you must be located within the path of annularity represented on the maps below. Areas outside the path of annularity will get a partial solar eclipse only.

In the U.S., a partial solar eclipse will also occur in all or parts of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
