OVERVIEW

On August 2, 2027, a total solar eclipse will occur in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. In Africa, the path of totality will cross over Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, and Somalia. In Europe, the path of totality will cross over Spain and Gibraltar (U.K.). In the Middle East, the path of totality will cross over Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen. 

In the U.S., a partial solar eclipse will occur in parts of Maine. The maximum duration of totality for this eclipse will be 6 minutes and 23 seconds.

The map below shows the path of totality over Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. To experience the total phase of the eclipse, you must be located within the path of totality represented on the map below. Areas outside the path of totality will get a partial solar eclipse only.
