NSO Eclipse Glasses

NSO/Maui Eclipse Glasses Project

In celebration of the 2016 partial solar eclipse observable from the Hawaiian Islands, American Paper Optics manufactured 25,000 solar eclipse glasses for the National Solar Observatory on the island of Maui.

 .

The glasses prominently featured art designed by a middle school student of Maui County.  This design was selected from entries to an art contest organized for all Maui schools by the National Solar Observatory. The glasses have been distributed to all Maui students in advance of the eclipse.
